Dr. David Menard was born and raised in Wheaton Township, Chippewa County. He grew up on a large dairy/beef farm. He attended Regis High School, and then went to UWEC where he received his B.S. in Zoology and Chemistry.
Dr. Peter Helmbrecht graduated from the University of Wisconsin – School of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. He has been with Northside Pet Hospital since 2015. He enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, especially preventative care and internal medicine.
Dr. Michelle Rothaug grew up in McMinnville, Oregon where she always knew growing up that she wanted to work with animals. She joined the army and got her start working with animals there as an animal care specialist.
Dr. Emily Schneider grew up in Stanley, WI on a small dairy farm. She was always outside playing with the farm cats and dogs and loved watching the vets come out to work on their cattle.
Dr. Doris Durst grew up on a dairy farm near Richland Center in southwestern Wisconsin. She graduated from UW-River Falls with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science. She then received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota.
Heather has always loved animals, but has a huge passion for cats and birds. She grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated from the Medical Institute of MN with an AAS in Veterinary Technology in 1997. She then spent 16 years as a Certified Veterinary Technician in an exotic animal practice in the cities. When she moved to Wisconsin she spent two years as a CVT before she started teaching future CVT’s at Globe University here in Eau Claire for another two years. In her free time, she enjoys weekends at her cabin, crafting, photography and spending time with friends and her husband, Frank. They have two dogs: Bear, a two year old Catahoula Leopard Dog and Syd, a one-year-old Great Dane. They also have three cats: Harley who is eight, Chevy who is six, and Shelby who is three. Along with a twelve-year-old bearded dragon named spike, two Cockatiels named Spike and Silly, and a tank full of fish.
Hannah grew up in Ladysmith, Wisconsin where she discovered her love for animals on her parent’s hobby farm as well as volunteering at the local animal shelter. She has raised and cared for a number of animals including: cows, sheep, chickens, dogs, cats, and an array of exotic pets. She then moved to Eau Claire to attend Chippewa Velley Technical College, where she graduated with honors and an Associate’s Degree in Administration with an emphasis in health care. In Hannah’s free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, crafting, getting tattoos, and spending time with friends and family. Hannah is pictured with her dog, Magnolia.
Sarah has lived in Menomonie, Wisconsin her entire life, and has had an interest in animals since before she can remember. She attended the University of Wisconsin – River Falls and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and a Veterinary Technologist emphasis. She then attended Argosy University where she received her Associate’s Degree as a Veterinary Technician. In her free time, Sarah enjoys being outside camping and horseback riding. She also enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially her two sons, Rayden who is eight and Jaxton who is five. She has three cats: Melody (15), Pixie (3), and a kitten named Raya, along with a Yorkie mix named Kit Kat, who is twelve (pictured).
Alissa moved to a hobby farm in Cadott, Wisconsin when she was 8 years old. She has always loved caring for animals and has actually raised a lot of her own horses, beef cattle, dogs, and cats. She later attended Globe University and received her Associates Degree in Animal Science. She has worked in the animal field for about 12 years now. In her free time, she enjoys going horseback riding, watching movies and sports, and spending time with her family. Alissa’s favorite activity though is spending time with all of her animals, including five dogs, nine cats, three fainting goats, and four horses.
Alexis grew up with a variety of animals in Osseo, WI. She started working at a local vet clinic in high school which really sparked her interest in helping and learning about animals. She currently has two dogs: a three year old red Labrador retriever named Colt, and a one year old Golden Retriever named Nova (pictured). She also has a fourteen year old quarter horse named Banjo. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and swimming with her dog and riding her horse. Alexis also likes going on road trips around Osseo and discovering new places she didn’t know existed.
Skylar grew up in Sparta, Wisconsin, where she worked on a friend’s mini farm and also showed animals at the county fair. She has also worked at humane societies as well as rescues, so she has a ton of experience caring for animals already. Skylar is currently attending UWEC for Biology, majoring in Pre-Veterinarian Sciences and minoring in Pre-Professional Health Sciences. In her free time, she likes to hang out with friends and go to the gym. Her favorite activity is spending time with her three animals though. She has two German Shepherds, Reff who is eight and Sherman who is six, as well as a kitten named Posie.
Ashley grew up here in the Eau Claire area and has always known she’s wanted to work with animals. She attended Chippewa Valley Technical College and received her Associate’s Degree in Animal Science Management. She has worked as a farm hand and assisted at a vet clinic previously. Ashley loves to work on crafts and read in her free time. She also enjoys spending time outdoors hunting and shooting trap, and hanging out with friends and family. Her family currently has a seven year old yellow Lab named Ruger.
Stephanie grew up in Whitehall, WI. She has owned animals her entire life and is always happiest when she is around and/or working with them. To get her foot in the animal field, she has volunteered at the Humane Association and showed animals at the fair. Stephanie is currently enrolled in the Vet Tech program through Penn Foster. She loves to spend time with her horses whenever she can. She is working with two of them to become barrel/cattle working horses. Stephanie also enjoys being outside and boating on the Mississippi river. Her family recently purchased a camper, so they will be visiting a lot of campsites in the near future. Her family has a plethora of animals at home, including two dogs: Hazel (a German shepherd), and Bella (a chocolate lab), two rabbits, Dash and Checkers, three horses, Harley, Queen, and Rowdy, 12 chickens, and 6 ducks.
Jade is currently in her final semester at Animal Behavior College. She will graduate with her Veterinary Assistant certificate very soon! In her free time, Jade really enjoys being outside. Hiking and kayaking are some of her favorite summer activities. She also likes to read as much as possible. Jade currently has two cats: Captain (pictured) and Luna. They are both a year old and full of energy!
Kendra grew up mostly in California, but her family has moved all over the country. She recently relocated to the Eau Claire area from Washington. She has loved animals and known that she wanted to work with them since she was six years old. Kendra has previously worked at an animal hospital as well as taken a few animal health courses prior to moving to Wisconsin. In her free time, Kendra enjoys going fishing, listening to music, hiking, playing pool and video games, reading, going to record stores, spending time with her cat, and playing her ukulele. She currently has two pets: a three-legged cat named Wobbles (pictured) and a Mini Australian Shepherd named Nova
Mikayla grew up in the small town of poplar, Wisconsin where she lived on a 40 acre hobby farm. She also showed all kinds of animals in 4-H, such as: dogs, cats, rabbits, and horses. After high school, she attended WITC – Superior for Business Management and graduated with high honors. Mikayla has worked at many jobs revolving around her love for animals, such as: A Place for Fido, Blue Sky Rabbitry, and a boarding facility in Superior. In her free time she enjoys hiking, going on road trips, and working with her dogs on obedience and agility training. She currently has four animals: Charlie, a six year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Berlin a six year old German Shepherd (pictured), Ginger, an eleven year old cat, and Pepper a five year old calico.
Annie grew up in Milwaukee, WI, but moved to the Eau Claire area in the 80’s. Her first job was in the vet field being a Veterinary Assistant where she helped with the animals, worked in the front office, and assisted on house calls. She became interested in the radiology aspect of healthcare and she has been doing that for the last 29 years. Annie attended UW Eau Claire - Luther Hospital School of Radiology as well as CVTC for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. She has an Associate’s Degree in Ultrasound and a certificate of Radiological Sciences. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, hiking, spending time with her kids, and shooting trap with her husband. The two of them also love watching Harry Potter and going on Disney Cruises. They currently have two dogs: Bello, a 12 year old Plott Hound mix, and Gertie, a 4 year old mini Australian Shepherd. They also have three cats: Lily (10), Sven (2), and a kitten named Luna.
Brittany grew up in Cadott, WI on a small hobby farm. They had all kinds of animals including ducks, chickens, and cows. She and her siblings would always bring home stray animals as well. Brittany has worked in customer service since she was 16 years old and is a very dependable and hard worker, making her a great fit for our team! In her free time, she loves to go thrift and antique shopping and likes to collect old, colored glassware. She also likes to go camping and being in the water. Brittany currently has three cats at home. Yamms and Sweet Potato, who are two year old brothers, and Boots who is nine years old.
Sarah was born and raised in Exton, Pennsylvania and recently relocated to the Eau Claire area. She enjoys spending her free time reading fantasy and science fiction novels. She also likes to binge watch movies and TV shows. The more seasons of a show the better! Sarah currently has a one year old dog named Atlas (pictured) and three cats named Odin, Misty, and Taby.

Thomas is one of the most affectionate cats you will find. Sit in our lobby and Thomas is bound to be in your lap giving you BIG HUGS, whether you are a cat person or not. He is very demanding. Tommy is 18 years old and joined our team 2005.
